I can help you with anything you need that requires sewing. Altering dresses for Bridesmaids, Proms, Evening. Hems and alterations for clothes.
Hi! My name is Sue and I have been sewing since I was 11 years old. The hobby immediately raced through my blood and I found my passion at this young age. Spending endless hours in the basement of my house I created all my own clothes. In fact, I prided myself on the fact that nothing I owned was store bought. Oh, I loved to hear the comments from friends, family and acquaintances – “You MADE that!”
During college I spent all my summers and vacations working for a fabric store called “Stretch and Sew.” It was there that I learned how to work with stretch fabrics – which were ‘new’ at the time. I made T-shirts, bathing suits and yes even underwear! Now I could REALLY say that I made everything I wore.
After college I worked in the production end of the wholesale clothing business. I attended the Fashion Institute of Technology on a part time basis where I studied pattern making. At work, I would sneak into the back whenever I had a chance to hang out with the sample makers and pattern makers soaking in everything they would teach me.
Returning to work after a 12 year hiatus to raise my two wonderful children, I was fortunate to find a job at the American headquarters of Janome – the largest home sewing machine manufacturer in the world. It was at Janome that I learned the wonderful art of quilt making. I am now the proud owner of 5 Janome sewing machines including an embroidery machine which enables my creations to be endless!!
